So, I am getting banded on 1/27 - yay! I have tickets to see Shania Twain on 1/29 - two days after being banded. Is this something I can do physically or will I still feel pretty rotten???? Can you think back to your own recovery and let me know what you think.

Honey you are going to feel like you got hit by a train two days post op. You will be weak and tired from not eating. If you go, I'd be super careful you don't pull a stitch and that you can see from your seat when SITTING because standing is ok, but you will be so tired. Not trying to be a downer, just honest :)
ReplyDeleteIf your surgery goes like mine, you'll be fine to go to a concert 2 days after. Just plan to sit when you want to, and know that you might not be able to see if the people in front of you are standing. Congratulations on your and your DH's surgery date!

Based on my personal experince - hell no! I was a really slow healer and felt run down for days. Many people aren't like me though, so maybe plan on going and just listen to your body.
ReplyDeleteI went to a movie 4 days later, was the first time I left the house...if you are really looking forward to this, then maybe you can do it, but definitely plan on sitting most of the show.
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn! First, YAY on the surgery date!
ReplyDeleteNext - 2 days later will be tough. Days 2 and 3 after surgery were worst for me. I would skip it, but it could be done if you want it bad enough.
Hey Dawn,
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with everyone (except Catherine our superwoman :)
I felt rotten for about four days.. day 2 and three for me were also the worst. You feel listless and heavy and tired and sore and everything in between. You may be one of the lucky ones who can get up and around though.. stranger things have happened. I hope you find a solution.
What a bummer.. it's always timing huh. Sux.
I'm thinking it might be a stretch. Although you can manage the pain with medication it is more to do with how run down you will feel. I had my surgery on a Thursday and went back to work the next Monday but I was exhausted from the lack of calories mostly.
ReplyDeleteIn my own opinion...I wouldn't risk anything.
I would say no. I was still gingerly walking around the house in a housecoat! Also, whenever I go to a concert, we always have to walk a long way to get to the arena and our seats. Sitting and listening would be fine, but I don't think you will feel like the rest of it! Good luck with everything! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! I am going to offer my ticket to someone else just to be safe :(
